The insert is stabilized mammoth tusk cut across the grain.
As usual I use the Dellana Dot grip system so you don't break your nails trying to work that little nail nick and it works from both sides, just squeeze and pull.
Pull on this one is about a 6 to 6 1/2 on a scale of 10.
